We’re living that full-time, road-tripping, family-of-four dream in our custom-built trailer and truck bed camper. It’s wild, it’s messy, and it’s absolutely incredible. We’ve seen the giants of Sequoia, the red rocks of Utah, and a whole lot of amazing places in between. And honestly, we’ve learned a ton about what gear actually works when you’re living on the road.
We’ve basically become professional gear testers by necessity. When your home is constantly on the move and your backyard is a national park, you figure out pretty quickly what’s worth its weight and what’s just taking up space. And because we get asked about our setup constantly, we decided to share the love (and the knowledge).
Our Rolling Home: Built for Real Life Adventures
Let’s be real, a store-bought RV wasn’t going to cut it. We needed something custom, something that could handle the rough roads and the even rougher demands of family life on the go. So, we built it ourselves. And in the process, we learned a lot about what makes a good adventure rig.
The Gear We Rely On (And Sell, Because We Love It)
- Solar Power: Our Off-Grid Savior. We’re serious about this one. We’ve tested a ton of solar setups, and we only sell the ones that have kept us powered through days of overcast skies and remote adventures. If you’re serious about off-grid living, this is non-negotiable.
- Water Filtration: Clean Water, Always. You don’t want to mess around with water quality. It varies widely depending on where you are. We’ve found the best filtration systems out there, and we’re happy to share our recommendations (and sell them!).
- Recovery Gear: Because Stuff Happens. We’ve been stuck, we’ve been bogged down, and we’ve learned the hard way that good recovery gear is essential. We only sell the recovery boards and tools that have saved our bacon.

- Camp Chairs: These chairs have taken a beating and kept on rolling. We stand by them.

- Navigation and Communication: Staying Safe Out There. Satellite communicators and satellite internet units (Starlink) are non-negotiable for us. We only recommend and sell the ones we trust.
- Outdoor Cooking: Delicious Meals, Anywhere. We love cooking outside, and we’ve found the best portable stoves, coolers, and cookware to make it happen.
